About the Skelton Township Trustee

Indiana Township Trustees have varied responsibilities that include overseeing Township Assistance, maintaining abandoned cemeteries, and providing Fire Protection. We are responsible for budgeting, financial record-keeping and public reporting.

Sheila Seiler

Sheila has served the Skelton Township Trustee’s Office since 2000, fulfilling the responsibilities of both Trustee and Clerk/Investigator. Throughout her tenure, she has played a key role in advancing public safety and infrastructure, including the establishment of the Skelton–Owen Fire Territory, significant improvements to the Owen Township Fire Station, and the acquisition of multiple pieces of fire apparatus through a combination of public funding and successfully secured grant awards.

From 2004 to 2020, Sheila served as Executive Director of the Susan G. Komen Evansville Tri-State Affiliate. In this capacity, she developed extensive expertise in public speaking, fundraising, grant writing, financial and budget management, public reporting, recordkeeping, fund appropriation, and resource allocation. She is also highly skilled in communicating effectively with individuals from diverse economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds.

Sheila currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Dubois–Pike–Warrick Economic Opportunity Committee, Inc. (doing business as TRI-CAP), Vice President of the Community Outreach Ministry, and President of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., where she has maintained active membership for more than 20 years. Although she retired from full-time work in the nonprofit sector in 2024, she remains deeply committed to public service and continues to volunteer her time and talents with numerous organizations.

Her guiding principle is to engage with residents, listen thoughtfully, and steward limited resources in a manner that protects and enhances the values and quality of small-town life.

Sheila and her husband, Tim, reside in Boonville. They are the proud parents of two married sons and the loving grandparents of three grandchildren.
